Who we are

Established in April 1973, the Zambia Cooperative Federation (ZCF) is the Apex Body of the cooperative movement in Zambia. Representing Thousands of primary cooperative societies across the nation,ZCF serves as the strategic secretariat and coordinating heart of the movement. From the village level to the national stage, ZCF is dedicated to uplifting the socio-economic status of its members through collective action and industrious participation in the Zambian economy.

Our Structure

The ZCF operates through a robust four-tier structure that ensures representation and impact at every level of society:

  1. Primary Cooperative Societies: Over 13,000 active societies serving local communities.
  2. District Cooperative Unions: 72 unions coordinating efforts at he district level.
  3. Provincial Cooperative Unions: 10 unions providing regional oversight.
  4. Zambia Cooperative Federation: The national body providing leadership and strategic direction.

Core Services & Specializations

ZCF has evolved from its agricultural roots to become a multi-sectoral catalyst for development. Our key focus areas include:

  • Agro-Processing & Value Addition: Enhancing the value of member produce to increase rural incomes.
  • Logistical & Supply Chain: Managing the procurement and distribution of essential inputs and machinery.
  • Technical & Financial Advisory: Providing auditing, accounting, and specialized consultancy to ensure the sustainability of affiliates.
